Design and Performance Analysis of the Hydropneumatic Suspension System for a Novel Road-Rail Vehicle

Road-rail vehicles built on traditional vehicle chassis can only switch operation modes at particular areas such as level crossings, thus limiting the working scope and efficiency of routine railway inspection maintenance. This paper proposes a novel tracked for road-rail with multi-cylinder hydropneumatic suspension system, which better adapt to rough terrains enhance ride performance. Based this design, single-cylinder mathematical model is derived validated by experimental data. An in-plane multi-body dynamics (MBD) road are established, combined model, including LuGre friction force. Virtual tests conducted investigate effects different initial gas volumes, varied diameters damping pipe lengths The results indicate that improper diameter charge volume will deteriorate performance, provides useful reference optimization design control system.
